THE JAPFEST TOP 10: SILVERSTONE’S HEAVY HITTERS

On the 19th of April the Japfest retail stand will be stacked with over 25 top-tier display cars and this year every single one is a weapon in its own right.

But if you want the headline acts? The builds guaranteed to pull a crowd three-deep all day? We’ve pulled together our Top 10 Display cars (so far) that perfectly captures the chaos, creativity and culture that makes Japfest the biggest Japanese car show in Europe.

And just to be clear, calling it a “Top 10” doesn’t mean the other 15 cars are filler. Far from it. Every car on our stand is hand-picked and absolutely killer. These are simply the ten we’re shining the spotlight on this week.

A Proper Cross-Section Of The Scene

This year’s selection is a full-spectrum snapshot of Japanese car culture. We’ve got hardcore track builds that look like they’ve rolled straight out of a time attack pit garage, aggressive aero, stripped interiors, slick tyres and brake setups the size of dinner plates, take Rich White’s amazing Impreza for example. Want to see more on this car? Click here (but only after looking at the rest of the cars).

Then on the flip side? Show-stopping display builds that bring Tokyo Auto Salon energy straight to Silverstone. Flawless paint. Engine bays detailed within an inch of their lives. Fitment so tight it looks computer rendered. The kind of cars that stop you mid-sentence. And of course, the icons are here too.

Expect Japanese legends inspired by both the race track and the neon-lit streets of Tokyo. Think golden-era performance heroes reimagined for 2026, just like the RX-7 above that will be revealed at the show, alongside modern platforms pushed way beyond factory limits, like Amber Performance’s 720BHP, Nissan Skyline R35 GT-R Nismo GT3! With almost every panel on this car having been replaced with carbon fibre, twin hybrid turbos and a spoiler that wouldn’t look out of place on the back of a light aircraft. This car deserves all the attention that lime green paint job brings. More info on this car can be seen here.

Three Top Secret Builds? You Read That Right.

We’re not doing things by halves this year. Among the Top 10 display cars, there are three builds wearing the legendary Top Secret badge, one of which was Smokey Nagata’s personal demo vehicle. The kind of cars that carry the legacy of smoky high-speed runs and outrageous aero packages. Seeing one Top Secret car is special. Seeing three in one place? That’s a vibe.

And if that wasn’t enough motorsport history for you, there’s also a Group A Nissan Skyline R32 GT-R on display. It’s a rare chance to get up close to a machine built for door-to-door combat at some of the UK’s most iconic circuits.

If go isn’t your thing, we’ve got lots of show, too. From a stanced, old-skool MZ21 Soarer, to an absolutely stunning Toyota Cressida. There’s also the UK’s best boosted EG Civic, well, in our opinion anyway, but if you’ve got something better? Why not apply for The Grid by Chemical Guys!

30 Cars. One Stand. Non-Stop Energy.

The Japfest retail stand at Silverstone isn’t just a parking area, it’s a celebration of everything that makes the Japanese modified scene so addictive. Track monsters. Street icons. Show queens. Race-bred machines. Full-on aero madness. OEM+ perfection, old skool cool, we have it all including the UK’s best Nissan R34 GTS-T, that is now less GTT and more GT-R!

We’ve highlighted ten cars to get you hyped, but make no mistake, all 25 builds are elite. So whether you’re chasing inspiration for your next mod, hunting for your dream build, or just soaking up the atmosphere, make sure the Fast Car stand is high on your hit list.
