Japanese Motorbikes to Display at Japfest for the First Time
For the first time in Japfest’s 20-year history, we’re opening the gates to Japanese motorcycles.
Curated by Torque Out Loud, a dedicated display of between 15 and 20 of the UK’s finest Japanese show and modified bikes will be joining the line-up at Japfest Goodwood on Saturday 3 October 2026. So if you’re a fan of Japanese two-wheeled performance, there’s going to be plenty to get excited about. From old-school icons to seriously modified modern machines, the display will celebrate the bikes that helped make Japan a global powerhouse of motorcycle performance.
The Japanese Bike Icons
Torque Out Loud will be representing the Japanese Big Four – Honda, Suzuki, Yamaha and Kawasaki, bringing together machines from across the history of Japanese motorcycling. Expect legendary names including the Honda Fireblade, a bike that changed the sportsbike formula when it arrived in 1992. Then there are the bikes that took the performance arms race in an entirely different direction. Suzuki’s Hayabusa, launched in 1999, became an instant icon thanks to its distinctive aerodynamic shape and relentless performance. Designed specifically to dominate the emerging hypersport class, the original Hayabusa quickly became one of the most recognisable motorcycles ever produced.
From the Street to the Show
Just like Japanese cars, Japanese motorcycles have developed a huge following in the UK. Part of that appeal comes from the sheer variety. The same manufacturers that produced cutting-edge superbikes also created iconic machines for touring, street riding, drag racing and customisation. Over the years, bikes such as the Suzuki GSX-R, Yamaha YZF-R1, Kawasaki Ninja ZX-9R and ZX-10R, Honda CBR and VFR ranges, and countless smaller-capacity Japanese sportsbikes have become cult favourites and many of these machines will be represented at Goodwood.
A First for Japfest
Japfest has spent two decades celebrating Japanese car culture, but 2026 marks the first time motorcycles will officially become part of the show. With 15–20 carefully selected modified machines taking centre stage, the Torque Out Loud display will add an entirely new dimension to the event, bringing together two sides of Japanese performance culture that share the same obsession with engineering, style and speed. Want to Bring Your Bike to Japfest?
While the Torque Out Loud display is a curated selection and is not open for individual applications, bikes are also welcome on club stands at Japfest Goodwood.
