Monster Athlete Luke Woodham To Bring Smoke and Big Air to Japfest

Japfest is no stranger to sideways action, tyre smoke and serious driving talent, but this year the show is levelling up in spectacular fashion. Monster Energy athlete Luke Woodham is heading to the event — and he’s not just bringing one machine. He’s bringing two very different weapons for two completely different shows.
Japfest is no stranger to sideways action, tyre smoke and serious driving talent, but this year the show is levelling up in spectacular fashion. Monster Energy athlete Luke Woodham is heading to the event and he’s not just bringing one machine. He’s bringing two very different weapons and putting on two completely different shows. Woodham will be battling it out in the Drift Kings competition in his Nissan S14, while also stepping into the Half Time Hall of Famers demo where he’ll be sending his ProLite truck flying over the ramps in a high-flying display of off-road madness. It’s a rare chance to see one of the UK’s most versatile motorsport talents combine precision drifting with full-send stadium truck jumps at the same event.

From Drift Circuits to Monster Energy Athlete
Luke Woodham has built a reputation as one of the UK’s most exciting and adaptable drivers. Over the years he’s carved out success across multiple disciplines, from competitive drifting to off-road racing, earning backing from Monster Energy and a loyal following in the process. Woodham’s drifting career has seen him compete across major UK drift championships, consistently impressing judges and fans with his aggressive driving style, huge commitment and crowd-pleasing angle. His ability to push a car to the absolute edge while maintaining control has made him a fan favourite wherever he competes.
The Drift Kings Weapon: Nissan S14
For the Drift Kings competition, Woodham will be unleashing his purpose-built V8-powered Nissan Silvia S14a drift car. The S14 platform has long been one of the most popular choices in drifting thanks to its near-perfect balance, long wheelbase and huge tuning potential. Woodham’s example is built to handle the punishment of competitive drifting, packing serious power and a setup designed to deliver massive angle and lightning-fast transitions. Expect big entries, committed lines and plenty of tyre smoke when Woodham hits the Drift Kings arena.

Big Air in the Half Time Hall of Famers
As if drifting wasn’t enough, Woodham will also be switching disciplines completely for the Half Time Hall of Famers demo and this is where things get seriously wild. For this show he’ll be bringing along his ProLite off-road truck, a purpose-built racing machine designed to launch off jumps and soak up brutal landings while racing flat out.

ProLite trucks are some of the most entertaining machines in motorsport. With lightweight tube-frame chassis, huge suspension travel and powerful engines, they’re designed to fly through the air and land hard without missing a beat. During the halftime demo Woodham will be hitting the ramps and sending the truck airborne in front of the Japfest crowd, bringing a dose of stadium-style action to the show. Seeing a drift driver jump straight from a precision drift machine into a high-flying off-road truck is a rare treat, and it perfectly sums up Woodham’s fearless approach to motorsport.

Two Disciplines, One Epic Show
With competitive drifting and full-send truck jumps on the schedule, Luke Woodham’s appearance is set to be one of the most talked-about highlights of Japfest. From tyre-smoking Drift Kings battles in his Nissan S14 to gravity-defying jumps in the ProLite truck, fans will get to see two completely different sides of one seriously talented driver. If you like your motorsport loud, sideways and airborne, make sure you’re trackside when Luke Woodham hits the arena. Because when a Monster Energy athlete turns up with both a drift car and a jump truck, you know things are about to get wild. And Luke isn’t the only Monster Athlete who’ll be at Japfest, Baggys will be there too! And we are hyped to see these two do battle on the UK’s fastest drifting arena.
