The world’s MOST FAMOUS Top Secret Nissan GT-R to Make First Japfest Appearance in Over a Decade
We can officially confirm that Smokey Nagata’s legendary 1100bhp Top Secret GT-R is heading to Japfest Silverstone on 19th April. This will be the first time this iconic machine has appeared at Japfest in over a decade.
Built by the world-famous Top Secret and masterminded by the man, the myth, the gold-obsessed legend himself, Smokey Nagata, this isn’t just another tuned GT-R. This record-setting, history-making, 234mph monster is THE holy grail of ALL R35s!
A True High-Speed Hero
This particular Nissan GT-R R35 shot to global fame when it hit an eye-watering 377.242kph (234.407mph) at the Nardo High Speed Challenge in 2013 securing its place as one of the fastest tuned GT-Rs on the planet. Under the bonnet? A heavily reworked VR38 pushing out a colossal 1100bhp, backed by massive bespoke turbochargers, a reinforced drivetrain and serious chassis upgrades to handle the power. The aero package is just as wild. Carbon-enhanced bodywork, aggressive functional styling and that unmistakable Top Secret presence make it as intimidating standing still as it is at full throttle. What makes this car even more special is its balance. Despite its record-breaking performance, the interior retains full seating and carpets, blending road car usability with serious speed credentials.
You’ll spot Bride seats, Takata harnesses, and bespoke carbon trim throughout, a cockpit that perfectly captures that Top Secret philosophy: extreme performance, no compromise, but still unmistakably Japanese tuning culture.
Why This Matters
The last time it graced Japfest was over ten years ago and since then, its legend has only grown.
