Hydraulics, Hops and Hype: Lay ’N’ Play Set To Takeover Japfest

Japfest is about to get a whole lot lower and louder as Lay ’N’ Play confirm they’ll be attending the show with their unmistakable line-up of Japanese lowriders. Known for blending classic lowrider culture with unexpected Japanese platforms, the crew will be bringing movement, noise and pure spectacle to Silverstone on 19th April. Positioned around the Japfest Retail stand, this display won’t be one you simply walk past. These cars demand attention, and they’re built to perform.

A Japanese Lowrider Line-Up Like No Other

Lay ’N’ Play’s collection turns familiar Japanese metal into something completely different. Expect to see a Civic EF Salon laid out low on hydraulics, a Nissan Bluebird transformed into a bouncing showstopper, and even a Suzuki Vitara reworked to lay frame rather than tackle lanes.

Perhaps the wildest sight of all will be the Nissan pick-up truck complete with a hydraulic ‘bed dancer’, lifting and moving independently to put on a show that’s more West Coast boulevard than British circuit.

Three Live Dance Demos Throughout the Day

This isn’t a static display. Lay ’N’ Play will be performing three live demos across the day, giving crowds the chance to see the cars hop, tilt and dance exactly as they were built to do. If you’ve only ever seen lowriders on a screen, this is your chance to experience the movement, sound and presence up close. Each demo promises tightly choreographed hydraulic action that will stop people in their tracks and pull cameras out of pockets. Keep an eye out for the show timetable that will give you the times of these performances.

The Viral CR-V You’ve Seen All Over Socials

Adding even more hype to the display, Pete from Lay ’N’ Play is bringing the now-famous Honda CR-V lowrider that exploded online, clocking over two million views across social platforms. Seeing it dance on your phone is one thing, seeing it in motion in real life is something else entirely.

Don’t Miss the Show at Japfest Silverstone

Although Lay ’N’ Play’s lowriders are set to be one of the most talked-about features of Japfest, there’s loads more going on from the Drift Taxis, to Retail Village and thousands of Club Cars. Don’t miss out on this and all the action at Japfest Silverstone. Public tickets are on sale now, so make sure you grab yours and be part of one of the biggest and boldest Japfest line-ups yet.
